I Can't Find the Word!

What to do when you don't know a word and just can't copy-paste it into Google translate?
Visit www.nciku.com which even lets you draw the character.
I heard that you can also drag and drop a jpg image for it to decipher, but haven't tried that yet.

Alternatively, you can also search "I can't find Chinese character" on Google, which should bring you to nciku.com anyway :)

长慢慢 slow progress?

immediately i've got feedback that something's wrong.
seems that 长慢慢 is a bit of a half-way sentence.
Some say i should add something to it.
like 智慧长慢慢. which would mean knowledge grow slowly or something like that.

How did this happen? 这是怎么回事呢？

At Chinese class today, which I take at the Coventry Chinese church,I learned a phrase.

It was such a long phrase, but its meaning was simple.

这是怎么回事呢？

It simply means how did it happen?

I had a rather lively teacher. The whiteboard next door fell down. We heard a 'crash!'.
Next moment we saw it and she quickly exclaimed,"This is when you may say,'这是怎么回事呢？"
